Imagine a place where mid-century cool meets artistic fire, where the memories of bank tellers whisper tales of the past and the clink of creativity replaces the clatter of coins. That is The Bank Space.
We're not your average artist residency. We're the culmination of good taste, elbow grease, and a serendipitous twist of fate. Back in 1958, this space started as the stomping ground for suits and ledgers, the ES&A Bank thrumming with the pulse of finance. Now, that very vault has been turned into a vibrant recording studios, the teller windows morphed into portals of inspiration, and the air itself thick with the electricity of artistic possibility.
All of this is the curated haven for artistic escapades in the heart of Dharawal Country.
Understanding Wentworth Street; once a bustling metropolis, now in the throes of a beautiful metamorphosis. Port Kembla's industrial heart still beats, but a new rhythm is emerging, one driven by the paintbrush, the spray can, and the boundless imagination of creatives like you.
We're proud to be part of this movement, repurposing the streets, brick by brick, brushstroke by brushstroke, for the vibrant future of this city.
So, whether you're a sculptor sculpting your next masterpiece, a painter wrestling with the canvas, or a writer weaving words into worlds, The Bank Space is your canvas, your clay, your blank page - whatever you need.
We're more than a residency; we're a community, a crucible where ideas spark, collaborations ignite, and creativity takes flight. Come, be a part of the story, fill your cup, and let your artistic flame burn bright in the heart of Port Kembla.

A found object is a natural or man-made object, or fragment of an object, that is found (or sometimes bought) by an artist and kept because of some intrinsic interest the artist sees in it.
Found Objects are a collective of curators, designers, and cultural explorers with an insatiable appetite for the unique. We travel the globe, traverse the streets, scour the underground and outsider communities, to unearth what we know you'll love.
You just needed to find it.
